Bought a new Pioneer Quantum Ultra 9k (YN009ALSI24RPG) in March 2026. Worked fine in cooling for about 10 days. The moment I switched to heat, everything went wrong.
Indoor coils ice up heavily. Liquid line frosts over in under 2 minutes in cooling. Suction pressure crashes to ~25 psig. Heat mode produces no warm air. No error codes. Vacuum holds perfect at, 30 inHg for 36+ hours. Filters and coils cleaned repeatedly. Symptoms never went away.
Brand-new system fails right after the first heat cycle and now I’m stuck dealing with their limited parts-only warranty, diagnostic requirements, and the usual runaround. Labor and refrigerant are on me even though this looks like a defective reversing valve or EEV.
