I am not looking to argue or get a refund. But as a customer, I think you should know what happened and why I decided to stop using your company.First, I want to mention a completely separate situation from March of last year. A technician came to my apartment for a regular service and stayed for only 10 minutes. I was told that a standard service visit must take at 1 hour. He didn't even ask me for any water to flush or test the drain line. He just said "I did everything" and left. I thought it was too fast, but I had other things to do and I trusted your company name.
Now, about the recent situation. A few days ago, my AC stopped cooling below 77 degrees. Your technician came, told me the tube was clogged, said he cleaned it, and left. I paid him $200 for this morning service. But the moment he drove away, the AC went right back to 77. Before he returned for the second time, I fully reset and reprogrammed the thermostat panel on the wall. Right away, the AC started working perfectly and cooled the whole apartment fast! So the problem was just a glitch in the thermostat panel, not the tubes.When the technician came back and saw the apartment was already cold, he seemed unhappy. He asked me for two big pitchers of water and poured them into the unit. Then he suddenly told me that he found a lot of water inside and it would cost $370 to clean it.I asked him: "Why didn't you see this water when you did the service this morning?" And his answer was: "In the morning I just did basic maintenance, but now I did a detailed inspection and found it."This makes absolutely no sense to me ! I called him specifically for a service. When a professional does a service and cleans the tube, checking the water and the drain is the very first and most basic thing they must do. How can a technician do a full service in the morning and completely miss a huge buildup of water? Either he didn't do his job at all in the morning, or he completely missed the main problem.He wanted to start doing this $370 job right away, but I stopped him and said I couldn't do this today. Then he started pushing me and said: "Okay, then pay me right now, and I will come back on Monday to do it." I told him I don't have the money for this. Then he changed his mind and demanded that I at least pay him $175 for the visit fee. I refused, and asked him what exactly I should pay a visit fee for? He didn't fix anything in the morning, and I had to fix the AC myself by resetting the panel. Combined with the morning charge, it felt like an attempt to extort almost $600 from me for absolutely nothing. Before he walked out, he told me that if the AC stops cooling again, I should just flip the main Disconnect Switch (the power switch on the wall inside the AC closet) off and on.This is a huge contradiction for me. If I really had a bad water blockage that costs $370 to clean, flipping an electric switch off and on would do absolutely nothing to fix it.The next day, I noticed that my KitchenAid dishwasher was completely dead and wouldn't turn on at all. That is when I connected the dots. I realized that we recently had multiple power outages in our building where the electricity was turned off and on several times. This power shock is what actually caused a major systemic electronic glitch in both of my appliances at the exact same time. It completely ruined my dishwasher panel and froze my AC thermostat at 77 degrees. Discovering this made it undeniable that your technician was simply trying to take advantage of the situation and pressure me into paying an extra $370 for a problem that did not exist.This whole situation and these strange explanations made me lose all trust. From now on, I will only use private, independent technicians that my neighbors recommend by word-of-mouth.
