A-Max Air Conditioning

Duct Cleaning in Miami

4.4 stars, 551 reviews via Google

A-Max Air Conditioning is an HVAC contractor in Miami, Florida offering installation, repair, duct cleaning, and heating services around the clock for Miami, Miami Beach, Coral Gables, and Hialeah.

About A-Max Air Conditioning

At 12920 SW 128th St in Miami, A-Max Air Conditioning operates under eight listed categories that stretch from HVAC contractor and air conditioning contractor to system supplier, duct cleaning, heating contractor, heating equipment supplier, and general repair service. That span covers most of what a homeowner might need across the life of a cooling system: sourcing new equipment, having it installed, keeping it repaired, and cleaning the ductwork that moves the air through the house.

Availability runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week according to the company's listed hours, which fits a business handling both scheduled work, like a duct cleaning appointment, and unplanned breakdown calls that can happen at any hour in Miami's cooling season. The heating contractor and heating equipment supplier categories also mean the company is positioned to handle the smaller share of homes in the area that rely on heat pump or furnace equipment during cooler months.

A-Max Air Conditioning's service area reaches from Miami into Miami Beach, Coral Gables, and Hialeah, so residents throughout that stretch of Miami-Dade can use the same office and around-the-clock phone number, (305) 203-3867. Given the range of categories on the listing, a single call to A-Max could cover a repair visit, a duct cleaning appointment, or a question about heating equipment without needing to involve a second company. Salt air and humidity add steady wear to outdoor condenser units across this part of Florida, and having supplier, contractor, and repair categories in one listing means A-Max can source a replacement part or a full new unit without a separate referral.

The Third Ownership Has Destroyed True Loyalty, Look Elsewhere

We have been loyal customers here for over 10 years, starting with the excellent original owner who sold us our unit (Dustin). After a rocky second ownership phase, the company changed hands again not long ago. A manager named Leonel came out to replace our exterior fan motor. He spent a lot of time bragging about being the new manager under this current ownership, boasting about how many positive changes he’s personally implemented, and how much he has improved team training and review scores. Unfortunately, his actions didn’t match his corporate bragging. Leonel charged us $960 for a universal replacement motor (a $100 U.S. Motors part) and boasted that his immense experience allows him to finish the job in 20 minutes instead of the usual 45-90 minutes it takes an "average" technician. The reason it took 20 minutes is because he took a massive shortcut: instead of routing the motor wires internally and safely under the hub assembly, he lazily fished them out directly through the open gaps of the top protective grille. In the intense South Florida sun, these exposed wires will bake, crack, and fail prematurely. When it came to quotes for a new system, his sales process was incredibly sketchy. He told us we either pay the $960 in full, or choose from the new unit "options" he searched on his phone, including a 50% deposit (approximately $5k)! Otherwise, we wouldn't receive a rebate or be able to use the financing options he was offering. He offered zero brochures, zero official company pricing sheets, and no website options. He just sat there researching options on his phone while I had to write down the model names and use AI in real-time to look up details and fact-check whether or not he was even being truthful (he wasn't). He later sent an email with severely limited, overpriced options for inferior equipment. Once we told them we were moving forward with another company, they completely ghosted us. They never returned or even reached out to fix the shoddy, exposed wiring their own manager left behind. They cannot claim this was a “temporary installation”, the manager walked away and left it this way permanently. Exploiting a decade of customer loyalty with predatory flat-rate pricing, sloppy shortcuts, and shadow-pricing sales tactics under the guise of “improved management” is shameful.

LOL total scam. They messed up the unit – instead of owning the mistake and refunding the issue, they doubled down and lost a customer. Shame on them.

Ali S., 1 star, via Google

No one showed up claimed manager wouldn't allow them in we have no manager on promise. Tried to find out who they talked to to no avail. No one called back.
Someone else came with no problem
