I would not recommend Southern Mechanical Contractors based on my experience. I initially paid $400 for them to service my A/C unit, which included adding Freon and cleaning the condenser. Unfortunately, the unit never cooled afterward.
I was told their work came with a 90-day warranty, so they returned and replaced the TXV valve. The A/C worked for only one night before it stopped cooling again.
Since then, I have repeatedly tried to contact the company to have them honor their warranty, but they have been unresponsive. At this point, they don’t even answer the phone or return my calls.
A warranty is only meaningful if a company stands behind its work. Based on my experience, Southern Mechanical Contractors has demonstrated poor customer service and disappointing business practices. Because of the lack of follow-up and failure to honor the warranty, I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I hope they improve the way they treat their customers.
